Testing 1, 2, Testing...

Dear Friends and Fellow Laborers, August 2023
This past month seemed to take forever to pass, we have seen God do much, but we have also seen the Devil at work too. We are not disheartened, but we are in a battle and battles are not easy. The Devil doesn’t want us here, and he is making sure we know it! God is good! He is what sustains us, and as long as that is true we can make it through anything! Just today we made some progress with Inara’s paperwork, and it should be ready this week. It was as if God was showing us He’s still working on our behalf.
This semester of Language School is coming to a close soon. The final evaluations are August 14th-16th. I’m still missing one of my test scores from the last evaluation, but my over all score on the second evaluation so far is 81. As this semester comes to a close, Gina started going to a tutor to make her time in language school next semester a little easier for her. She has told me what she has been learning, and it seems like she is getting a crash course in everything that I have been learning over the last four months. Which is wonderful! I almost wish I had that same advantage.
The girls are growing up fast. Inara might even pass up Thalia if she keeps growing like she is! Thalia understands as much Indonesian as she does English, if not more! It’s great to hear her talk what little she can, even when it’s just “Go get” fifty times in a row for no reason. All that being said, Thalia’s ability to understand more has also brought along with it a will of her own, and we are learning all about how God must feel when we want something that’s not to our benefit, but He wants what is best for us. Would you pray for us as we navigate through this and learn what it means to bring up a child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord?
Thank you so much for being faithful to pray for us, and for our prayer requests. Pray for us to have patience and wisdom to deal with the trails that God allows to come our way. Pray for our children that we may teach them about the Lord so that they may one day have a personal relationship with Him. Pray for us as we continue to grow together as a family. Last, but most certainly not least, pray for the Indonesian people and their hearts to be open to hearing that Word of God we bring.
With Love in Our Hearts,
In Service to the King,
