Dear Friends and Fellow Laborers, September 2023
This past month seemed to fly by before we knew it. We want to thank you for your prayers about Inara’s visa. We received it less than forty-eight hours before we left to go to VBM’s Regional conference in Thailand. We had a wonderful time at the conference seeing friends we haven’t seen in a while as well as a great time of encouragement and learning for our family.
After getting back home from Thailand, I was able to go to the University and acquire my certificate stating I scored high enough on my evaluations to continue on to the next set of language school classes! My overall score after the final evaluation was 84.5. The next semester of language school starts in two weeks. I will begin the second segment of classes, and Gina will begin the first segment of classes. Please pray for us as we continue this time of learning Indonesian.
When we returned from Thailand, we discovered that we had been robbed by a someone we knew. However, after speaking to this person the money was returned. The Lord blessed in this situation by not only allowing the money to be returned, but by also giving us the opportunity to show forgiveness and to work towards reconciliation. We are not perfect by any means, I tell you this to ask that you pray for us as we rebuild our relationship together and as we learn to take the proper precautions for the safety of our home and family.
Thank you so much for being faithful to pray for us, and for our prayer requests. Pray for us to have patience and wisdom to deal with the trials that God allows to come our way. Pray for our children that we may teach them about the Lord so that they may one day have a personal relationship with Him. Pray for us as we continue to grow together as a family. Last, but most certainly not least, pray for the Indonesian people and their hearts to be open to hearing that Word of God we bring.
